This course will support you to build on your confidence and decision making.
This is a one day course or can be spread over a couple of sections over a number of days. Areas that are covered are:

Paddle SUP Safer
Are you new to Paddle-Boarding? Do you want to improve your awareness on a SUP? Do you want to build confidence in rescues on a SUP of yourself and others?
This award is all about keeping safe on your SUP in sheltered water venues. So, whether you are paddling with friends or your club, this practical course is packed with safe practical solutions. It doesn’t matter about your age or whether you have limited SUP experience, this course supports your knowledge and raises your awareness of your personal safety.
This is a 4 Hour course consisting of 4 sections:
- SUP Equipment
- Environment and Weather
- Planning
- Safety on the Water

Inland Open Water Safety and Rescue
First of all, this award is all about keeping safe in your craft on the inland open water, suitable craft include kayaks, canoes, sit on tops and Stand Up Paddleboards. So, whether you are paddling with friends or your club, or working towards a leadership assessment, this practical course is packed with safe practical solutions. It doesn’t matter about your age or whether you’re relatively new to paddling on inland open waterways, this course supports your knowledge and raises your awareness of your personal safety.
This is a 6 Hour course consisting of 7 sections:
- Safety frameworks
- Clothing and equipment
- Providing assistance
- Self-rescues
- Deep water rescues
- Rescue scenarios
- Reflection and skills checklist
